FIRE DOOR INSPECTIONS
Everyday use of fire doors can result in slight alterations to the door and its surroundings, and this can affect the performance of the door in the event of a fire.
Regular inspections by a competent person, as previously discussed, will ensure the identification of any defects to the fire door that need to be addressed through maintenance.
Service includes:
annotated plans of each floor of your building showing the location of each fire door
details of each non-compliant, nominal, and compliant fire door identified
a thorough review of all elements of each fire door and remedial actions described using the BM TRADA Accepted Repair Techniques
any obvious fire hazards or risks
rough order costs for remediation of each door - if required
FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS
As the responsible person you must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment of the premises. This will identify what you need to do to prevent fire and keep people safe.
You must keep a written record of your fire risk assessment if your business has 5 or more people.
Carrying out the assessment
Identify the fire hazards.
Identify people at risk.
Evaluate, remove or reduce the risks.
Record your findings, prepare an emergency plan and provide training.
Review and update the fire risk assessment regularly.
